Virginia Tech Scholarship Program to Target Low-income Students

Basically, Virginia Tech has great financial aid options for students:
For a start lets take a look at the Applying for financial aid article, and at the same time - read carefully the award package offered to you as a student.

Unfortunately, The Scholarships Gateway is now CLOSED, yet a new light has started to shine - A new academic scholarship for high school students from low-income families as been published by Abc7 news.

The Presidential Scholarship Initiative will cover tuition, fees and on-campus room and board for up to 50 low-income students from Virginia starting in fall 2009. The competitive scholarship can be renewed annually for four years if the student maintains a 3.0 grade-point average.

School officials say the financial-aid package is being funded by several university sources. The scholarships will afford opportunities to lower income students that they could not afford until now.
Even if the new scholarships wont cover all of the students needs, it will surely help him with achieving his academic goals.
